Research

As an integral part of the academic research environment, the laboratories carry out high-quality scientific studies which in turn lead to an active publication policy. They also develop partnership and contract-based arrangements with research institutes and industrial firms working in their field of expertise.

The development of research activities led by ENSTA Bretagne answers two main objectives:

  • To advance knowledge in the school’s fields of expertise and satisfy the needs of industrial stakeholders and the Ministry of Defense.
  • To ensure that student engineers receive state-of-the-art, cutting edge scientific training, stimulating their curiosity, spirit of initiative and creativity.

Laboratories

Today, ENSTA Bretagne's research is divided into three department:

  • IT Department This laboratory conducts research in the fields of Model-Drive Engineering, Ocean Sensing and Mapping, Radar and Electro-Magnetic Sensing, Passive Acoustics.
  • The Mechanics Department This laboratory focuses its research on Material and assembly mechanics, Fluid, material and structure dynamics, Control and Diagnosis of Electromechanical systems.
  • Human and Social Sciences Department Its research aims to improve knowledge about training and education methods in relation to the role of an Engineer.

 Yann Doutreleau,  Scientific Director

"With the creation of its research laboratories in 2001, ENSTA Bretagne confirmed its will to embark on research activities.
